The
eChristianEd was a great opportunity for me to receive more training to prepare me for working in youth ministry. I found the courses to be both educational and informative. These courses whet my appetite for more in-depth study. Because of these classes, I have pursued a master of arts in Christian education.
Our youth program has benefited tremendously from my coursework in Biblical and Theological Foundations for Ministry. Our program now offers events, studies and activities for different ages and different stages of Christian faith growth based on concepts that I studied during this coursework. The group interactions are more productive and mindful of including everyone. From a practical standpoint, our group has grown in numbers and we've retained a larger number of older teens. My year involved in this training helped me deepen my personal relationship with God, expand my knowledge about the Methodist church, and bolstered my desire to work with youth. Having this experience has allowed me to be more confident and capable in my ministry with the youth in my church. I feel it is a necessary component for any adult wishing to serve God by working with youth and will be a great tool for youth workers.
I have learned so much at eChristianEd. First and foremost it has given me the opportunity to continue my education in my ministry of Children and Youth but also to expand my knowledge of Christian Education. The instructors are helpful and communicating with my classmates from all over the country has enhanced the experience of learning.
